With its 50 kilometers coast going from Pozzallo to Scoglitti, Ragusa has beautiful beaches with golden sand and washed by a crystal sea. Thanks to the shallow water that gradually expands out to the open sea and the presence of bay watchers, the little ones can easily swim in most parts of the coast. The well-known sites and picturesque fishing villages offer the tourists a wide range of opportunities to spend blissful holidays and weekends. The stream of tourists has increased thanks to the expanded accommodation capacity of the province, and also due to new infrastructures such as Comiso airport and the harbor in Marina di Ragusa. As it was for the Nature reserve of the Irminio, the environment has been protected and upgraded, preserved from pollution and unauthorized building.
Marina di Ragusa, Ragusa: certainly this is the best destination for those who love the seaside but do not want to give up to a lively nightlife; it is the most known and equipped seaside resort of the whole southeastern Sicily. It offers plenty of accommodation facilities and a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, cafés, shops and prevalently free, public lidos. Thanks to the usually fair wind, practicing it is possible to practice both sea sports and activities. Beaches are equipped with different pitches. Basket and soccer tournaments are usually organized in Piazza Malta, while during summer plays, concerts and food-and-wine events take place in Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi. The seaside location has also obtained the Blue Flag certification.
Donnalucata, Scicli: Including the beaches of Playa Grande, Timpe Rosse, Ponente and those of Levante, Donnalucata is a seaside resort perfect to relax. There is a wide, public beach; a picturesque promenade that overlooks directly a low reef and along which various catering services can be found. It is also possible to buy sea food and products at the small town-harbor.
Nature reserve of the Irminio, Scicli: this is an untainted environment where no lidos can be found. The beach is 4 kilometers west from Donnalucata. In an inner part of the nature reserve swimming is not permitted.
Cava d’Aliga beach, Scicli: As a small center, calm and full of charm, it has a mostly rocky coast which alternates with small beaches. In the rocky part tourists will be able to visit Grotta dei contrabbandieri, while the areas of Punta Corvo and Grotta dei Colombi are great for seabed exploration.
Sampieri, Scicli: the public beach expands for about 20 kilometers. The lidos offer various catering services both during summer days and nights. There is also a small pine forest equipped with recreational facilities. From one end of the coast it is possible to see the ruins of the burnt factory of Pisciotto.
Costa di Carro, Scicli: a few steps far from the small town of Sampieri, the sandy beach expands for 4 kilometers and it is surrounded by the beautiful Mediterrenean flora characterized by palms and agaves. For turtles this is an ideal place to lay their eggs. It is necessary to walk part of the way.
Marina di Modica, Modica: Full of free, public and well-equipped beaches, hotels and shops, it is not very far from Modica, one of the most important Baroque towns in Sicily. The small bay of Marina di Modica is a small paradise for surfers and wind surfers thanks to the usually fair wind.
Maganuco, Modica: located within the Gulf of Marina di Modica, it is easy to reach through the road that connects Sampieri to Pozzallo. The beach is characterized by tall, white dunes and the seabed expands out to the open sea.
Santa Maria del Focallo, Ispica: it is about 9 kilometers far from Ispica, a well-known tourist site. This is a wide beach characterized by dunes and typical Mediterranean flora. The water is crystal-clear although it is often affected by the numerous currents of the Strait of Sicily. Isola dei Porri is a small but really precious islet composed of few rocks. The islet takes its name from the only existing plant there: the leek Allium Ampeloprasum. The area around the islet is a protected and very valuable nature reserve, a much sought-after destination for those who practice underwater tourism. The islet is in front of Santa Maria del Focallo, between Ispica and Pozzallo.
Pozzallo beach, Pozzallo: with its wide beaches, beautiful crystal-clear water and its long promenade, this is the largest seaside resort; there are numerous accommodation facilities and catering services, bars and clubs.
Torre di Mezzo beach, Santa Croce Camerina: slightly hidden, the beach is a quiet place especially during the week. It offers a broad parking space; at night many youngsters can go out and have a drink while listening to some music directly on the beach.
Caucana beach, Santa Croce Camerina: between Punta Secca and Marina di Ragusa, this is a seaside resort close to Kaukana Archeological Park which protects the remains of a settlement of exiles of Kamarina, who arrived after the destruction of the town in 258 BC. The beach is public, and the water is crystal-clear.
Punta Braccetto beach, Santa Croce Camerina: it has a sandy coast enclosed with two rocky ridges; it is perfect for those families looking for total relax and those passionate about snorkeling and underwater fishing. Going a little bit further, Randello beach is perfect to walk along the shore, it offers a picnic area inside the pine forest lining the beach. There are no catering services.
Punta Secca beach, Santa Croce Camerina: this seaside resort has recently become famous as the setting of the tv series “Il Commissario Montalbano”. The beach is public, easy to reach and it welcomes especially youngsters and families. Along the small but very nice promenade there several catering services.
Scoglitti, Vittoria: the coast, the Riviera Kamarina, extends for about 1 kilometer; there are beach-volley and beach-soccer pitches where even national and international events take place. It is possible to visit Kamarina Archeological Park. Alongside the beach, there are pubs and clubs perfect to spend some pleasant time out, and also famous restaurants where to enjoy fresh fish meals.
Marina di Acate, Acate: About 10 kilometers far from the village, this beach has become a holiday resort highly appreciated by both visitors and locals who are fascinated by the peculiar sand dunes – i maccùna – from which the site takes its name. The picturesque landscape is characterized by the presence of Retama raetam, which grows on the dunes and can also be found on the Tunisian coast. Most of the local summer events take place in the small town-center; events that usually end with the traditional firework display at the end of August. Alongside with the public beach and the untainted sea, there are lidos and recreational facilities, as well.

A pochi minuti ampie e bellissime spiagge vi aspettano con tramonti da favola e finissima sabbia dorata. In origine un’antica masseria dei primi dell’800, La Muraglia è stata di recente ristrutturata con una cura che ha privilegiato l’utilizzo di materiali bio-compatibili e caratteristici della nostra tradizione. Antichi muri in pietra a vista e particolari nicchie rendono gli ambienti ricchi di fascino e pieni di calore pronti ad accogliervi.
