Le Spiagge di Palermo
Mondello Beach, Palermo: located between Mount Pellegrino and the imposing Monte Gallo, is the city beach par excellence, frequented not only by tourists but also by Palermo. Characterized by a coastline of fine white sand, the beach is almost fully equipped except the stretch closest to the town. Other famous beaches of Palermo are Cala Gallo and Sferracavallo Beach, also very popular both by tourists and by Palermo.
Capo Zafferano, Bagheria-Santa Flavia: it is one of the most evocative and spectacular views of the whole of Palermo. In fact, from the small promontory that stretches out in the Tyrrhenian Sea, many small bays are opened, bathed by a crystalline and transparent sea. Besides being very popular with tourists and residents, the area has also been chosen for several TV commercials. Noteworthy in the area are the beaches of Sant’Elia, Mongerbino, Porticello and Aspra.
Balestrate Beach, Balestrate: beautiful and long sandy beach overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare. An important tourist destination of the territory thanks to the fact that it has remained uncontaminated, the beach also has a great geological interest due to the presence of Pecten fossils.
Lido di Cefalù, Cefalù: it is the seafront beach of the beautiful seaside town. Always crowded with tourists and swimmers, the beach is famous for its fine, clear sand and clear blue sea with the backdrop gently sloping to the sea. The beach is equipped with services and establishments only for a stretch and then it is still completely free. Noteworthy among the marvelous beaches of Cefalù: the Mazzaforno Beach, Pollina Beach (Torre Conca), Capo Playa Beach, Sant’Ambrogio Beach, Settefrati Beach and Caldura Beach.
Magaggiari Beach, Cinisi: splendid beach of fine sand on the Gulf of Castellamare. Bathed by a transparent and crystalline sea, the beach is very wide and long and is characterized by a low and rocky seabed.
Isola delle Femmine Beach, Isola delle Femmine: the beach owes its name, like the town itself, to the famous island located only a few hundred meters from the coast. Recall that the beach is part of the Nature Reserve oriented Isola delle Femmine established in 1997 by the Sicilian Region and now entrusted in management to the LIPU.
Salinelle Beach, Lascari: long beach of golden sand bathed by a beautiful blue sea that becomes deep after a few steps from the water’s edge. Loved by windsurfers, the beach is equipped and offers bars and dining options. Also in Lascari we point out the Gorgolungo Beach and the Piletto Beach.
Ciammarita Beach, Trappeto: with its long white sandy shore is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. From the naturalistic point of view the territory of Trappeto offers beaches of fine and clear sand and sea beds rich in corals and other animal and plant species much appreciated by both the fishermen and by the underwater excursionists.
Cala Sidoti, Ustica: thanks to the shallow seabed it is one of the few beaches on the island where bathing is allowed. Characterized by the presence of dark pebbles and washed by a beautiful transparent sea, it is the ideal place for snorkelers. Then we point out in the westernmost side of the island of Ustica the suggestive Punta Spalmatore, a picturesque stretch of coast totally uncontaminated and wild.
